Town Mayor to re-open local eatery and events centre

A local eatery is all set to showcase Keighley businesses worldwide from next week

Companies and organisations are being invited to view the latest video conferencing equipment and meeting rooms to be revealed at Roland’s, Utley following extensive renovation to the venue.

Beginning with a grand opening, Town Mayor, Councillor Javaid Akhtar will be cutting the ribbon and given a tour of the new facilities, as well as handing over the first fund-raising vouchers for local schools.

Owner Roland Embleton explained: “Although we continue with the restaurant side, occasions and events, we wanted to bring something else to Roland’s that could really benefit local businesses. We have some fantastic space downstairs and decided it would be perfect to deliver training, meetings or teambuilding events.”

“It’s been a lot of hard work,” Says Roland, “But after four months, we feel we can offer something different to the local area, especially with the video conferencing system.”

Supplying and installing the equipment for Roland’s are Keighley firm Immineo Ltd who specialise in IT and audio visual systems for companies and the education sector.

Jonathan Barry, managing director of Immineo Ltd explained: “Having been a patron of Roland’s we were very enthusiastic about getting involved with this project. This will enable an accomplished local restaurant to provide cutting edge communications and presentation equipment for local enterprises and organisations.”

The meetings rooms will be available for breakfast mornings, networking events and even twilight meetings, something Roland feels could be ideal for schools and PTA’s

Mr Embleton also hopes to bring other events such as open mic evenings and is looking to work with musicians, writers, artists and poets.

The grand opening, part of a week-long series of open mornings, will be held week commencing Monday 18 April until Friday 22 April from 9am – 12 noon each day, with complimentary coffee and pastries served.
