Tong Street congestion views sought

Businesses’ views are being sought about their experiences of using Tong Street in Bradford.

The south-east Bradford highway is renowned for congestion and a scheme is being developed to help reduce the problem.  A £13m improvement scheme along the one-mile section from Knowles Lane to Westgate Hill includes increasing capacity and improving accessibility.

Businesses are invited to tell us, Bradford Chamber of Commerce, or West Yorkshire Combined Authority direct about any issues they have, for example:

  • Does peak-time traffic on Tong Street cause regular delays, increased costs and loss of productivity?
  • Does it cause regular difficulty for staff, clients and movement of goods/services?
  • Is it affecting your current or future development plans, e.g. investment?

Submit comments by email to wyca.transportfund@westyorks-ca.gov.uk or call 0113 348 1892 by 30 April 2017.  Alternatively, call the Chamber on 01274 230057 or email here.

The scheme is one of several included in the £1bn West Yorkshire Plus Transport Fund programme, to stimulate housing, employment and economic growth across Leeds City Region and should be delivered by late 2022. More information can be found at: www.westyorks-ca.gov.uk/wytf.
