Summer-Experience-2016

Summer Experience Bradford 2016

Summer Experience is a placement scheme that offers businesses the opportunity to recruit an enthusiastic undergraduate student for a six week project based placement between the end of May and September 2015 in a cost effective way. The students receive a salary of £275 per week, processed and administered by the University and this year the university is able to offer businesses funding for the six weeks dependant on the following criteria:

  • SME (less than 250 employees) 50% funded for 6 weeks (cost to business = £825)
  • For large organisations the cost of a 6 week placement is £1650

The Employer Services Team can support the business in drafting a placement Brief and will advertise the business’s opportunity to the university’s first and second year students.  Support with the initial recruitment & selection process is also available. The university also supports all business with the contract and payroll process.

The university will be running the  awards ceremony again this year as it was such a great success last year.  All providers of summer experience placements will be asked to nominate their placement student for a number of categories if the business feels that the student has done a great job for the business over the summer.  The university will also be asking the placement students to nominate their providers for a number of awards.  The university feels this is a fun and inspiring way to recognise all the hard work providers and students put in to delivering a fantastic summer experience programme.

If the business has a project in mind, please complete the internship brief form by following the link and return it to the university as soon as possible.  Once we receive this the university can start promoting the businesses opportunity to the students.
