Martin Parish of engineering business, Industrial Spray Equipment, based at Commerce Court in Bradford has completed a 21 mile charity ski from Portpatrick in Scotland to Donaghadee in Northern Ireland with a group of friends. They used a RHIB (rigid-hulled inflatable boat) and it took just short of two hours.
The daring feat took place in the summer with friends, to raise money for RNLI and Combat Stress. Their training also included being part of a rescue exercise with the RNLI in Portpatrick.
Martin has been addicted to water-skiing since he was 15 and is a qualified volunteer water-ski instructor. He said: “The crossing was as predicted, “lumpy in the middle” however the skill of whole team was apparent and the trip went as we anticipated. The navigation and our safety drills were spot on!”
