Bradford-based concrete admixtures specialist Oscrete fills two key management roles following major new product launches and a record year in business.
2016 proved a significant year for Oscrete, a division of Christeyns UK, with sales up by a record 22% over the previous year, marking the fifth year in succession in which Oscrete has recorded sales growth of over 20%, year on year.
The appointment of two sales managers will allow the firm to better serve its client base and provide a stronger platform for continued growth and the achievement of ambitious business goals.
Mark Till, 33, who originally joined Oscrete in 2008 takes on the role of National Sales Manager, responsible for sales across the whole of the UK and oversees a team of four sales managers. Oscrete manufacture a comprehensive range of high performance concrete admixtures for the pre-cast and ready-mix markets and over the years Mark has gained a wealth of experience and an in-depth knowledge of the industry.
“There are exciting times ahead at Oscrete and I am delighted to have the opportunity to help shape the company’s future development and growth,” commented Mark. “ Having seen our sales of admixtures grow into our target precast market, I intend to place particular focus on developing the jointing sealants and adhesives section of our portfolio and introducing these to a broader market.”
Russell Greally joins Oscrete as Sales Manager for North England and Scotland and will be focusing on developing new business opportunities across his area. Russell joins the Oscrete Division having previously worked as Engineering Manager for Oscrete’s liquid dosing division, Christeyns Engineering.
In addition to personnel, the firm has also invested in new product development launching several new products in the past year. This included the September launch of a new combined water-repellent and compaction aid for dry concrete mixes, such as concrete block paving (CBP) and concrete roof tiles. The new product called Colourplas HD20, successfully combines both performance properties in a single admixture to improve dosing efficiency whilst increasing the admixture’s cost effectiveness.
Oscrete also launched a new range of cementitious bedding compounds for the precast concrete erection industry. This range of specialist materials, Renocem BM, complements the successful Renocem FC range of fast setting and easy to use, concrete repair and patching compounds.
Thirdly, Optomix 460, a high performance admixture was introduced in 2016. This product employs PCE technology for use in ready-mix concrete where extended slump retention at high temperatures is required.
To boost sales in Northern Ireland and Ireland, Oscrete appointed Adcrete Limited as the new stockiest and distributor for their products in this market. The venture is proving a great success already with strong sales in the admixture business. Adcrete also represents Oscrete in distributing Owens Corning Alkali Resistant Glass fibres and Forta Ferro synthetic structural fibres.
In Spring 2016 Oscrete invested over £220k in a new multi-compartment tanker unit capable of carrying 30,000 litres which has optimized transport scheduling and improved their delivery service offering.
2017 will continue to see the company add further innovative products to its range the first being Alphaflow 620, a new super-plasticising admixture for concrete that contains a Viscosity Modifying Agent specifically formulated for applications with SCC. The product was successful trialed in 2016 with various precasting plants in UK and will be launched to the wider market in early February.
