Preparation steps up a gear for the much awaited AWB Charlesworth and Pearson and Associates 3rd annual Charity Golf Day in aid of Martin House Hospice.

Following the success of their second Charity golf day held last summer, which helped to raise over £2,800 for Martin House, AWB Charlesworth and Pearson and Associates have set their sights high on smashing this amount for their event taking place on 24th June this year.

Last year the hosts were joined by 13 other teams, including Barclays, Armstrong Watson, Manse Capital and Bluefin Insurance. Guests enjoyed a quick bite to eat before a shot gun start at lunchtime and 18 holes of golf at Keighley’s scenic golf course. After working up an appetite, players then returned to the club house for a three course evening meal, a top and tail quiz and a prize raffle. The event this year is hoping to attract the same teams to support and take part again and some fresh new talent to bolster up the competition!

Local businesses are also keen to show their support to such a worthwhile cause with raffle prizes already generously donated by; Bradford City Football Club, The Devonshire Hotel, Le Bistro, Keelham Farm Shop, Cobbles and Clay, Pennine Cycles, Choc and Truffles, The Grove Book Shop and Skipton Music. Through raffle ticket sales alone last year the evening managed to raise an incredible £1160- so AWB Charlesworth and Pearson and Associates are continuing to appeal to local businesses for their donations. In addition to raffle donations, companies can show their support by sponsoring a hole which will display their advertising on the golf course or alternatively pay a small fee for an advertising space in the event brochure.

Speaking at the event last year, John Haigh, Corporate Fundraiser at Martin House, said:

Many thanks to everyone involved in last year’s charity golf day.  A fantastic amount of money was raised, which will go a long way to supporting the children and young people with life-limiting illnesses, and their families, across the Yorkshire region.  Our services are provided free of charge, 365 days a year, and families can choose to receive our support in their homes or at the hospice.  We rely almost entirely on voluntary donations to keep the hospice running, so the support from the AWB Charlesworth and Person & Associates golf day is very much appreciated by us all.”

If you would like to enter a team into the event, donate a raffle prize, sponsor a hole or indeed wish to advertise your services in the event brochure then please contact Melanie Crewe (Marketing Executive at AWB Charlesworth) on or 01535 613 687.
