Bradford Chamber’s Local Affairs Committee has a new chairman, plus new members.
Justin Robinson of Hayfield Robinson, who has chaired the group for the last six years, has made way for TL Dallas’ Mike Martin. The group, which meets quarterly, supports the main policy-making body, Chamber Council with consultation responses, receiving presentations and updates in areas affecting local business, and feeding in sector views and ideas on how to help business more.
Topical issues for the group have recently included crime and anti-social behaviour in City Park, poor driving standards around the District and planning regulations.
Another recent issue taken up by the group has involved opposing the closure to general traffic of Church Bank, nestled between Little Germany and the Cathedral Quarter. The LAC also led the opposition to closing Stott Hill following a sounding out of nearby members’ views.
New members to LAC are:
Nick Milner, RBS
Jenny Cryer, Prospect Services
Philip Cavalier-Lumley, Affinity Productions
Michael Wall, Beaumont Robinson
Nasreen Karim, Platinum Partnership Solicitors
The Chamber puts on record its thanks to Justin, and looks forward to a new for policy development with Mike.
