On Tuesday 11th November Napoleons Casino & Restaurant on Bolton Road in Bradford marked 100 years since the start of World War I & paid tribute to former servicemen and women with a special remembrance dinner for ex-service men & women.
A fantastic £737 was raised on the night & last week General Manager Jane Dodd & Assistant General Manager Barry Bradley presented the cheque to SSAFA Chairman Terry Grayson, & Steve Abbott who helped organise the special evening.
The event was attended by 100 service men & women from R.N.A, Royal Marines, Submariners Assoc, Coldstream Guards, R.E.M.E Assoc., Military Police, Royal Artillery, B.L.WMC. Old Comrade, Paras, S.A.M.A.82, R.B.L, R.A.F & Royal Engineers.
Guests were joined on the night by the Lady Mayoress of Bradford, Cllr. Dale Smith & the Head of SSAFA, they all enjoyed a complimentary drink and a four course complimentary meal.
Jane Dodd, General Manager at Napoleons Casino & Restaurant, commented: “We wanted to hold an event to mark 100 years since the start of World War I & decided what better way then to invite in the services to celebrate & thank them for the work they do for our country & to pay tribute to former servicemen and women. We had a fantastic night bringing together an array of the forces & managed to raise a substantial amount for SSAFA who provide invaluable practical support and assistance to servicemen and women, veterans, and their families, every day of the year.”
