Waste-to-energy plant for Keighley

Keighley to get waste-to-energy plant

A new £135 million waste-to-energy plant in Keighley has been given the go-ahead.

Preparatory work is due to start shortly, and the scheme will create up to 500 jobs during its building and operation.  A former gasworks site at Marley is ear-marked for the project, and a consultation session takes place at Keighley Civic Centre, 3-7pm, 27 July.

Two plants for recycling waste will be built, together with an education and visitor centre and office accommodation.
