JCI Bradford (formally Bradford Junior Chamber of Commerce) launches its first ever Leadership Academy.
The Leadership Academy will be available to all JCI Bradford members who are looking to develop as young leaders and gain regional recognition for their efforts.
In order to graduate from the programme, JCI Bradford members will have to complete the following steps:
- Take up a council position
- Organise 1 local event
- Attend 3 training sessions
- Attend 3 networking events
- Master 1 of the three core JCI disciplines
- Attend 1 National Event
This will give any hopeful young leaders exposure to leadership/management, project management, event management, budgeting, strategic development and networking.
On completion of the programme, all successful young leaders will receive a certificate and medal for their efforts, an honorary mention at JCI Bradford’s Annual Dinner and a recommendation from the President of JCI Bradford. Of all those who complete the programme; one will be picked by a judging panel and will receive either one year’s free JCI membership or a bursary to attend an international JCI event.
Philip Cockayne, JCI Bradford’s President for 2015 commented “When I look back at all the great opportunities that JCI Bradford has offered me as a young leader; I was keen to give others the platform to not only develop themselves, gain recognition for their efforts but also get best value out of their membership.”
JCI Bradford is a membership-based organisation based in Bradford aimed at giving young people development opportunities which allow them to create a positive change in their local communities. Whether through community projects, fundraising activities, training, networking or social events – JCI is a must for any young leaders who wish to excel outside of work.
