Housing group launch free club to help job seekers

Incommunities are launching a free weekly drop-in service to help tenants into work and also access training.

The Work Club takes place every Tuesday, 10am to 12noon, at the housing group’s Construction Training Centre at Hillam Road (off Canal Road, BD2 1QN) in Bradford.

Members of Incommunities Community Resilience Team will be on hand to help people with their job hunting including offering one-to-one support to give them the skills and confidence to find work.

Anyone going to the Job Club will be able to get advice and support on:-

  • sourcing local job search sites
  • preparing CVs
  • completing job applications
  • basic computer skill
  • using the Government’s Universal Jobmatch service

Nic Jones, who will be leading the weekly sessions, said: “We are aware from our customer feedback that there is a real need for a friendly and personal one-to-one service that gives people practical support to make that right move into work. The Work Club is designed to do just that.

“This free service is open to any Incommunities’ customers who might need that bit of confidence or guidance to find their first job or get back into work after a break from the employment market.

“Our door will be open to just pop in or stay for the morning and access the support available.”

The service starts on Tuesday morning (12th July).
