The announcement follows the success of JCT600’s company-wide fundraising initiative for the Association of Young People with ME (AYME) last year which resulted in colleagues at its Bradford head office and its 47 dealerships across the North and the Midlands raising a grand total of £52,037.

Throughout 2015, JCT600’s 2,000-strong team will once again take part in a variety of fund-raising events in support of a single chosen charity with colleagues taking on the challenge of attempting to raise even more funds than last year.

“This is the third year that colleagues have chosen one charity which will benefit from a 12-month long programme of fund-raising activities as we believe that by combining our efforts and focussing on a single charity each year, our fundraising can have a real impact,” explains John Tordoff, chief executive of JCT600.

“As well as annual events hosted by the company such as our Yorkshire Three Peaks Walk, every year we are staggered by the innovative ideas and enthusiasm of the JCT600 team and I’m sure that 2015 will be no different.  Our previous fundraising achievements mean that we have an ambitious target this year, but we’re confident that colleagues will once again rise to the challenge.”

Kirsty Moon of JCT600’s head office dealer support team who led the selection committee said: “Our charity committee considered 67 nominations from colleagues before finally selecting Alzheimer’s Society.  After choosing a children’s charity last year, we were keen to lend our support to people at the other end of the age spectrum.

“We were particularly impressed by Alzheimer’s Society’s involvement in local communities through its ‘Dementia Friends’ community programme and hope that using our network of dealerships, we will be able to help the charity raise awareness among colleagues and customers, giving greater profile to this much needed community programme.  We will also be working closely with the charity to support its programme of fundraising events throughout our dealership locations from Yorkshire and the North East to Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.”

Bethan Wood, corporate fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Society, said: “Alzheimer’s Society is the leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers.  In 2015 there will be 850,000 people with dementia in the UK, with numbers set to rise to 1 million by 2025.  The Society’s fight for a better world for people with all types of dementia takes a wide range of forms. We are delighted that JCT600 has chosen us to be its charity partner in 2015 and with their support, we will be able continue our work to improve the lives of those living with dementia.”
