Oscrete Construction Products, a division of Christeyns UK Ltd, has invested in a new multi-compartment tanker unit that is capable of carrying 30,000 litres. The tanker is currently on site at Christeyns head quarters in Bradford undergoing final testing and risk assessment checks and will be out on the road by mid April.
This is the first tanker purchase for Christeyns who have invested over £220k in this state of the art tanker and cab unit, which will be used to streamline its construction chemical deliveries. Currently the company carries out bulk deliveries using a standard rigid lorry. This new tanker will mean that Oscrete can offer a much quicker and more efficient service, which will also provide health and safety benefits for the driver and delivery teams.
With its gleaming aluminium body in reflective silver, white cab and rear and bright green trim, the impressive tanker looks smart and sleek and is sure to catch some attention on the road. In line with the company’s efforts to make the working environment safer, the tanker has a fully enclosed double handrail and brake interlock and is designed for ground level operation to aid with operator safety.
Richard Boardman, Logistics Manager at Christeyns, commented: “Our reputation is based not only on our products but on the service we provide to our customers. The arrival of our new Oscrete tanker will have a huge impact on the distribution side of our business allowing us to offer an even better level of service.
We will be able to optimize transport scheduling within geographical areas, reduce delivery frequency and be much more pro-active. The investment made in this tanker will ensure we can meet growing demands and keep ahead of the game.”
Preparing for the arrival of the tanker has been a real team effort with two project teams working hard over the last few months to ensure things run smoothly. Along with the logistical planning of how the tanker will run on the road, the team has worked on the loading and unloading on site and how this will work around existing operations.
