A study into how well UK colleges perform across web and social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, places Bradford College in top spot for Yorkshire for the current academic year.
The figures, from digital data specialists Edurank, also rank the college, whose past students include artist David Hockney, the fifth best performing out of the 430 colleges nationally.
The next best performing Yorkshire colleges are in 19th and 31st spot respectively for the period September 2015 to the end of April 2016.
Bradford College’s impressive online showing is another boost for the city, coming hot on the heels of a national newspaper report declaring Bradford is the most appreciated British city on Instagram.
The Mirror newspaper reported that Bradford came top of the list in its own study of ‘likes’ on the photo-led social media channel.
According to the Mirror study on 50,000 pictures, the average image tagged with Bradford (#Bradford) racked up 20 likes each on the social network.
Leicester came in second with a score of 18 and Sheffield was third with 14. Neighbouring city Leeds notched up a score of 11 with the nation’s capital, London, garnering a score of 10.
According to the Mirror, the city of Bradford’s good performance is likely to have been boosted by home-grown pop star Zayn Malik and football club Bradford City.
