Christeyns is a manufacturer of chemicals for various industries, working in the “business to business” sector. A family-run company, its HQ is in Ghent, Belgium. The group employs 650 people and turns over of 200 million euros annually.
Christeyns UK is based in Bradford and employs 110 people. In 1995, the Belgian firm began a series of takeovers and alliances that led to European expansion. This included the takeover three years later of ‘Oils and Soaps’, one of Bradford’s oldest manufacturers (originally founded 1874).
The firm’s principal focus now is the supply of detergent, supporting chemicals and engineering expertise into the commercial laundry sector. It works with leading companies in the market, and has a strong focus on manufacturing chemicals for the construction sector.
In 2012 Christeyns UK acquired 100% of the business of Alex Reid, a supplier to the dry cleaning market and also 50% of the shares of Klenzan based in Warrington, a business that serves the food and beverage sector with a strong focus in the dairy industry
Nick joined Bradford Chamber Leadership Group early in 2015 and was elected as VP in July 2015.
