AWB Charlesworth are delighted to announce they are sponsoring local Bradford and Bingley Rugby Club, “The Bees” for 2016/2017.
The Bees play their rugby in North One East having gained promotion last season and are in the top ten per cent of English Rugby Clubs. They were formed in 1982 following the merger of Bingley RUFC (established in 1876) with Bradford RFC (established in 1866). They are also the ancestral home of the world famous Barbarian Football Club formed in 1890.
AWB Charlesworth Partner and head of the Bingley office, Andrew Worger, himself a former Bingley RFC and Bees player and Director of the rugby club, said ” We recognise the importance that key organisations such as the Bees play in our local community and are happy to continue our support of the Bees. We feel it is important for local businesses to support clubs and organisations within the community of which they are a part. We wish the Bees continued success both on and off the field in the forthcoming season.”
Dave Hemsley from the ‘Bees’ RC said: “Finding the funds to support the running of a community rugby club such as the Bees is a difficult task. The Bees are enormously grateful to all our members and sponsors who help us provide the opportunity for rugby across all ages and abilities. We are pleased that following the merger with Worger Howcroft, AWB Charlesworth has kindly offered to sponsor the club. On behalf of the players and members at the Bees I would like to give a big thanks to all at AWB Charlesworth for their support.”
AWB Charlesworth, which has offices in Bradford, Bingley, Keighley and Skipton, has a longstanding commitment to supporting local sports clubs and charities including Steeton FC, Kildwick Primary School, Pennine Cycles, Manorlands and Martin House Hospice to name but a few.
